Medetec Paper Publications

Medetec Publications has selected Copytech (UK) Ltd, trading as 'Printondemand-worldwide' to meet its printing needs. This organization has gained accreditation to both BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and BS EN ISO 14001:2004 thereby demonstrating its commitment to combining quality of production with a high degree of environmental awareness.

Medetec books are printed on 100 gsm coated paper from a managed source, accredited by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). Top of the range digital printers are used to produce near lithographic quality with 1200 dpi and outstanding halftone screens. In the first publication, Surgical Dressings and Wound Management, high quality colour images are also included throughout the text. The books, which are perfect bound with a laminated cover, are usually despatched within a few days following receipt of an official purchase order.

Medetec Electronic Publications

Medetec Publications has selected Firsty Work, part of the Firsty Group, (BCL NuMedia Ltd) to undertake the coding and conversion of Surgical Dressings and Wound Management into ePub format, the eBook standard recognised by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) which works on most portable reading devices.

In common with other books produced in this format, it optimises itself for on-screen reading on a mobile phone, desktop, laptop or eReader. Importantly the text is reflowable, which means that if the size of the font or display is altered, the text will rewrap itself to fit the available viewing area. All the colour images in the original book are retained and greatly add to the impact of the content on hardware capable of displaying them.

A Kindle version of the text is also planned, which will be available direct from Amazon.
