Surgical Dressings and Wound Management
This recently published book probably represents the most comprehensive
single source of information of wound management materials
currently available.
Comprising 720 pages it is divided into 22 chapters with many illustrations in both black and white and colour.
The first few chapters deal with the structure of the skin and describe some of
the practical and financial problems of managing wounds of all
types.
The major part of the book describes the development, physical
and chemical properties, and mode of action of all of the
principal groups of dressings and wound management materials in
current use. In each case this information is supplemented by a
detailed review of the literature on the product group
concerned.
A chapter containing observations on factors that influence
dressing selection completes the clinical section of the book and
a final chapter contains more commercial information, consisting
of contact details for manufacturers and distributors of products
cited within the text.
